A quieter day for the Modlins. We needed to rest and so caught up on some much needed sleep and settled into the apartment. We went to Aquascene first thing in the morning to see this very popular attraction. Basically, a fish feeding experience which the boys absolutely loved. The humidity is quite exhausting and Belinda has had to get use to me sweating a bit. We then took Belinda to Casuarina Shopping Centre for some retail therapy and a coffee. She was in her element. Finally stocked up some food and party nibbles for an afternoon watching the AFL Grand Final on our 30cm TV in our unit. A word on the Grand Final. A great game. Hard, fair and a good contest. Unbelievable we have to go through that all again a week later and I am sure the AFL are excited about getting some more money out of the punters and upsetting the lead up to the NRL Grand Final next week. We(I) will be making sure we arrive back in Alice next Saturday in time for another afternoon of four 'n twenty pies, sausage rolls and ice cream. My last rant on the AFL...when will the Brisbane Lions get the respect they deserve for winning 3 premierships in a row? No mention at all of their achievements by Channel 7 (were there any shots or grabs of Brisbane players celebrating, magic moments from their grand finals or interviews with past Brisbane players?) or Channel 10 (does not even make the shortlist for Legendary Moments of the decade!!!?????). I guess that is what you get for beating Essendon and Collingwood- better not upset the powerhouse clubs or Victorians.
