Some more of the Modlins

Kurtis made the Alice Springs (Desert Storm) Under 13 Soccer team. The State Championships were held in Alice and there were three Alice Springs teams. His team won Division 2. The other 2 teams were in Division 1 and Alice Springs won that division as well. Kurtis played pretty well for a 10 year old.
Elijah slipped at the start of his race (apparently) and came second for the second year running in the 70m sprint. We will do some training next year.

Crazy Auntie Kazza has moved in with us for 6 months and is teaching at Living Waters (Kurtis and Elijah's school). Now Belinda has someone to back her up when she is picking on me.

Athletics Day 2010. Elijah and his good mate Ben.
A new sandpit for Joseph...apparently.

Family shot at Kurtis' 10th Birthday.
Kurtis and his 10th Birthday. If you can't believe he is 10, don't worry, either can I. We gave him a surprise party. He didn't know what hit him!! We had computer games, X Box, Table Soccer , Iphones and an old Street Fighter arcade game. Then we had the Brisbane Lions on the big screen....yes, it was a game they actually won... v Collingwood!!

The boys had to put up with a speech by me. It was the story of Kurtis' birth. Joseph enjoyed it!

Back at it

The Boys at Emily Gap "Beach"
Back at school now after 2 and a half years here. After a great Christmas 2009 and a great break in June/July 2010 (including a trip back to Horn Island- Torres Strait), we have realised how much we love doing what we do as a family. Joseph is now 2, and has recently chipped one of his front teeth...he is not that cute anymore, but I often say he is 2 going on 7. All 3 of the boys love it out here now and Kurtis especially is quite settled and enjoys doing home schooling with Belinda. Having said that, he is looking forward to rejoining mainstream for Term 4.
I have finished my Master of Education after 9 long years and hopefully this blog will get updated regularly. I am doing a lot of reading and thinking about missional church and so grappling with this whole "walking in the spirit" concept, but trying to be aware of the people around me, family, friends, work colleagues, the fellas; all who need me to be the person God has called me to be. I am ready to move beyond just the run of the mill instituionalised and attractional church model and start being the church. An interesting quote to ponder is that the church is not the Body of Christ...the Body of Christ is the church. Enjoy some photos.
