Road Trip - Day 3 - Katherine to Darwin 323km

Nearly at our destination. A shorter trip made longer with a visit to Nitmiluk Gorge. A must do. The 2 Gorge tour was about all we could handle. There are 13 gorges, but 2 was enough. We are starting to struggle with the humidity, but enjoying the change. Travelling to Darwin saw an increase in traffic and road kill. I don't think we will do any driving at night. The size of some of the roos would destroy the car. This is the dry season for Katherine/Darwin, so we don't expect any relieving rain...however much it seems to be forecast. The photos are a little out of sequence. Frustrating night on the net.
Joseph thoroughly enjoyed the 2 Gorge tour.

A lovely meal at Sugarbag Cafe at Nitmiluk interrupted by this bird trying to steal our food and bit Belinda's finger as she tried to defend our last meal before the trek to Darwin.

The Leanyer Recreation Water Park in Darwin. Pretty Busy. You might just make out Elijah amongst the throngs of people in the pool. He was taking a rest from the water park and 3 water slides. How much does this all cost?...FREE!!!

Something Elijah wanted me to do. Unfortunately the other kids had to get in the act!!! My holiday- My photo!!
I won't bore you with too many gorge photos, but it is spectacular and worth a visit.
Jedda's leap. You need to see the movie "Jedda" to recognise this. 35m is the depth of the water below the boat. Sacred area for the local people.

He may be cute, but get some sleep tonight little buddy.
